Tangible heritage.
This part of the collection is born from wine casks: staves and hoops that held wine for years and still carry the trace of time and of the cooper’s craft.
For centuries, crafts like this brought entire communities together around a shared activity. Knowledge passed from hand to hand and from generation to generation, building a collective memory that is now at risk of disappearing. I want to recover this legacy and free the materials from their original function: taken apart, the staves and hoops no longer contain anything and become lines and curves suspended in the air.
Creating becomes a space of presence, where time expands and mistakes are part of the process. Each piece keeps a shared knowledge alive, reinterpreted from the present, balancing the weight of wood and iron with the lightness of movement.
Unique within their series, the pieces may change over time.
