Armadures

Earth · Revolutions · Water

Armors are a revisiting of old defensive clothing. They come from the symbolism of ancient times, but they protect the needs of today's society. I have always felt drawn to armors as clothing for confrontation and the use they have had through history. In many Native communities, armor was also imbued with spiritual protection, sometimes believed even more powerful than its physical side. Even though armors are almost out of use, this project reflects the structure of today's society, which keeps the population in constant confrontation.

Land · cow bones and leather

The cow symbolizes Mother Earth for many cultures, as well as fertility, nurturing and power. In ancient Egypt it was a symbol of fertility, richness and renewal. This armor with cow bones speaks about the confrontation we are living with Planet Earth.

Revolution · vinyl records

Music is a form of language, a type of communication, a spiritual force, an aesthetic or artistic expression, a social ritual, entertainment, and is socio-politically catalytic.

Water · plastic bottles

Water is a universal symbol of change, present at the most significant turning points in Earth's transformation. This armor speaks about the confrontation we are living with Planet Earth: a wearable piece built from plastic bottles, addressing sustainability, climate change and the human relationship with natural resources.
